PHOTOS NEEDED FOR MOTHER'S DAY: To celebrate Mother's Day, we would like to feature photos of all of our mothers on the altar. We encourage you to participate in this. ORGAN CONCERT SERIES: Pierre Grandmaison, organist of the Basilica of Notre-Dame Montreal will perform this Sunday, May 11th. Get your ticket to this innaugural performance of the Organ Concert Series. Tickets are $15, $20 or $30. PURCHASE TICKETS HERE.
ANGEL AND CHERUB CHOIR UPDATE: The Angel Choir will meet this Thursday, May 8th. The Cherub Choir will not meet this week, but will return on Thursday, May 15th.

''LIVING THE QUESTIONS'' CLASS: The LTQ class continues this Sunday with the topic: Reclaiming the World: Care for the environment is not only deeply biblical and practical, but increasingly critical, not only for our collective future but also for our current spiritual lives. This discussion class tackles some of the major theological questions, and provides tools for how to form our own answers. All are welcome, whether you’ve attended the class before or not. ''JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE'' CLASS: This class, led by Barbara Sloan and Brenda Mattox, continues this Sunday at 9:45 am in the Parlor. Visitors are welcome. Bibles and study materials are provided.
SACRED SPACE: This meditative service continues this Sunday at 10:30 am in the Sanctuary.
SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE: During the 11:00 am worship service, Rev. Dave Stambaugh will bring a special Mother's Day sermon.
SUNDAY PARKING: Members are encouraged to park at the Hollywood & Highland parking structure, to allow more space in our lot for visitors. Parking at the Hollywood & Highland complex costs $2.00 with a purchase and validation from one of the stores there, such as Starbucks. Thanks for helping us enable as many people as possible to worship with us on Sundays.

5P21 FOOD PREP: This ministry prepares sandwiches for folks in line at the County Hospital AIDS Clinic 5P21. If you'd like to help prepare the food, please come to the Kitchen next Friday, May 16th at 9:30 am. Folks are also needed to go to the hospital to deliver the sandwiches. TOUR OF THE CHURCH: Want to know more about the rich history of our church and the beautiful campus? Richard Settle will lead a tour of the church and campus on Sunday, May 18th at 9:30 am. Meet the group in the Courtyard.
EXPLORING MEMBERSHIP COFFEE: Would you like to know more about our church? Then plan on attending the next Exploring Membership Coffee on Sunday, May 18th in the upstairs office following the church tour. MISSISSIPPI TEAM RECOGNITION: Be sure to be at the worship service on Sunday, May 18th, when we recognize the efforts of the Mississippi Mission Team. We'll hear some of their stories and watch a special dvd of photos from the week they spent working in Waveland.
CHURCH COUNCIL: This all-church meeting will take place immediately after the worship service on Sunday, May 18th in Grant Hall. Everyone is invited to attend.
'BOOKIES' BOOK CLUB: The Bookies' May selection is 1984, George Orwell's classic and always topical novel. Pick up a copy from the HUMC online bookstore (or read the one that you probably have hanging around the house) and join us on Friday, May 30th at 7:30 in Grant Hall for what is sure to be a very lively discussion. HOLLYWOOD BOWL PARKING: The Hollywood Bowl season has begun. The proceeds from the cars that we park in our lot go straight to our general budget. If you'd like to help park cars throughout the spring and summer, please email Laura Hovermale. It's easy and fun.

FELLOWSHIP DINNER: Join us for the all-church Fellowship Dinner at 6:00 pm in Grant Hall.
CHERUB & ANGEL CHOIRS: The Children's Choirs rehearse on Thursday evenings after the Fellowship Dinner. The Cherub Choir, for babies to 1st grade, rehearses from 6:30 to 7:00 pm.
